The « Child In Need Institute » (CINI ) is a great charity organization that supports poor children and women in India. CINI UK works closely with CINI India but has an independent set of trustees and is dedicated to ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of CINI’s work.
CINI UK’s objective is to « help poor women and children to break free from the inter-generational cycle of poverty, malnutrition and ill health ».
In order to do so, CINI UK works closely with local community groups to achieve sustainable improvements for nutrition, health and education for children, adolescents and mothers in need.
Because CINI UK makes full use of locally available skills by working with local staff and volunteers it manages to keep costs low.
If you are interested to find out more about their current projects such as the « Loo » -project just check out their website.
There are many ways to support CINI UK and they are very creative in terms of illustrating how you can support their work apart from the straight forward donation of money: you can for instance buy a charity gift certificate for your mother by either paying for the training of a traditional birth attendant, sponsor a mother or pay for the training of a traditional birth attendant.
Alternatively you can opt for a Charity Challenge and book for instance a trip to India with a dedicated Charity travel agency and hereby support CINI UK or you can run the Flora London marathon for CINI UK or give time and gifts in kind to support them.
You see there are so many different ways to support their work!
But go and see for yourself. May be you will get inspired?!
