Noriella Al Hariri designs the hip scarves shown above for her fashion label All by N. Born and raised in London she took her first steps into the fashion world working for a contemporary woman’s wear label and as a freelance stylist in London.
At some point in her career she decided to leave London for Beirut to become the head stylist for a top TV station and some time ago she even decided to establish her own fashion label « All By N ».
We really like All by N's hip and versatile « concept scarves » that are easy to wrap around your neck, come in many different styles, have pockets and that make great fashionista gifts. We have therefore asked Noriella a few questions to share her story with you. Please find our Q&A with her hereafter. Enjoy!
How did you to come up with your concept scarf? Why this design with pockets?
I was working on my apparel collection when a friend asked me to design a "different" scarf. I used to love wearing the big square shaped scarves - but found that I have to always spend time to fold it into a perfect triangle and then the bits that went around your neck were never long enough. So I created a scarf that didn't need to be folded, gave the same front drape but was long enough to keep you comfy.
The pockets were a final "must" add-on as I personally love pockets
What inspires you?
I get very inspired by music - and music icons.
What's next?
At the moment the ALL BY N scarf is being highly demanded so I’d like to concentrate on this. I would however bring in my apparel collection when the time is right.
What's your brand's mission and where do you see All By N in five years from now?
To have many labels that specialize in different pieces that are all Part Of N. I see an ALL BY N women's and men’s apparel.
What have been the milestones in your Fashion Designer's career so far?
Being stocked in Harvey Nichols in Dubai and Harvey Nichols Saudi Arabia, and all the press coverage.
Any advice for other aspiring designers and entrepreneurs?
Never only design for yourself. You have to be flexible and give your customers what they want - don't be scared to try! Be confident and proud of what you've created.
Anything else that you want to share or that might be of interest?
The scarves are unisex depending on the colors/fabrics used. I also have a kids selection coming soon!
