We feature companies, products, services, locations, people and charity projects
(« Companies »), which we consider unique in one way or another. Each of them almost worth a trip and inspiring because of the people behind.

Remember how it feels to search the web and end up with the same boring list of links? And even after clicking yourself through the three first pages of results you still haven’t found what you were looking for? Or your computer is clogged by some big company advertising.
Of course, search engines are useful and offer valuable results. But we believe it is a matter of WHY you are searching for something – business or pleasure. We felt that there is a need for another approach in the latter case.

This is how the idea for « know what and where.com » was born. A trusted source for inspiration where you may sometimes even find something you need although you weren’t really looking for it.

know what and where.com wants to make your time searching the web easier and more enjoyable.

We want to create a space of well-being for you where you are not overloaded with information because we have made a selection. A place where you feel at ease, hang out, have a good time and get inspired. This is why we chose a combination of links, words and pictures to make your visit a special experience.

When asked about our precise criteria we have no simple answer as products and services are different and require different judgment. There is not only black and white.

know what and where.com offers a very subjective selection for ordinary consumers. We have no laboratory and we don’t do any kind of product testing. What we want to share is our perception and our personal experience. All of the listed Companies inspire us in one way or another.

We are completely independent and don’t accept payments to feature the Companies we pick. We write all our texts completely on our own.

We like to discover new things and are bored by the uniform appearance of mainstream inner-cities and department stores these days. Most of the times it would be difficult to remember where you are by just looking at the always same chains and products.

What about discovering some small boutiques and local brands? Or some young entrepreneurs that started a business? Or some truly unique souvenir that may remind you of a cool trip every time you spot it?

This need for different things (small or big, cheap or pricey) and our desire to support local designers, small businesses, start-ups and small family owned businesses made us decide to develop « know what and where.com ».
This does of course not imply that we will never ever feature some well established company or brands on our website. We won’t focus on classifications but on the quality of our content to make your life on the web easier and more enjoyable.

Because it is the people that make our world different, we would also like to bring people together!

Some of you may like what we do, others may not. Unfortunately we can’t be everything to all of you. But we hope that the majority of you will appreciate our approach and come back for a little escape from time to time. We are determined to further expand our directory to offer you a continuously amended virtual oasis of well-being while you surf the web on the look-out for new and great discoveries worldwide.
